Commencement is the first Nyxite record in doughbyte.
Synopsis
NYXEM, presumably a senior researcher, welcomes IOGOS aboard the RHOMB. IOGOS's role aboard the RHOMB seems to be research of "Fractal Disease". NYXEM gives a summary of what work aboard the RHOMB is like, and gives some words of warning about fractals.
The RHOMB
The RHOMB's purpose is to travel near the edge of the universe, which NYXEM notes is finite in size. The record implies that the outer edges of the universe somehow have a disease of some sort, and that they must be studied in order to prevent their spread. The crew of the RHOMB may be equal in importance, meaning that each person can either do research, repairs, paperwork, or anything in between. The RHOMB works in tandem with the NSIrP, and communication takes a long time, given that the ship exists near the edge of the universe.
Fractals
Fractals border the edge of the Nyxite's universe. Notably, they appear to be both extremely dangerous and spreading through the rest of the universe, from all directions. The last part of the record gives a harrowing message: The fractals are not alive. Why would NYXEM warn IOGOS about the fractals potentially attacking the RHOMB, and also tell them that fractals cannot speak? Why would NYXEM make such assertions if Nyxite barely know anything about them? Can fractals think? These are all great questions.
