"Many, many years ago she built a home in the Ashmorgue, a miserable plot of dead land nobody else wanted. She eventually was made their leader and became quite famous across the land." - CASEI[1]

ROMAL (/roʊmɑːl/, roh-MAHL) is a pivotal character in the story, and is responsible for much of what happens in the later parts of 265404. She is purple, but due to the nature of living in the Ashmorgue, she is often covered in soot and ash. This gives her a blackish or dark purple appearance.
The Tears.mp3
ROMAL's story starts earliest as a friend of LOTUS. The presence of a mysterious ball in the caldera that LOTUS had been taking care of had plenty of challenges. To maintain secrecy, a conspiracy was formed to look after it. Initially, the ball was hidden in a cave network in the Lake of the Surface, but it consumed the water and lowered the levels, which would lead to its discovery.[2] After gathering together once more, the group decided to split the ball into a series of "tears" that are shards of the ball.[3] When pieced together, the shards form a ball shape once more. After being reborn and distributing the tears all over the surface, there were internal struggles in this group. These struggles led to most of the members ending up crippled or dead.[4][5][6] After saying goodbye to LOTUS one last time, ROMAL began her journey to colonize the Ashmorgue and take over the surface with the power of the tears.[7]
Chieftain of the Ashmorgue
ROMAL is perhaps best known for settling the ash plains, a region that is highly volcanic and full of ash (much as the name implies).[1] The area is known for being barren, unclaimed, and inhospitable, and some people consider settling in this area extremely disrespectful to the gods.[8] It's unclear how familiar ROMAL was with the ash plains given that she was young when she started her work. Considering that she was reborn at the time, it's possible she was a member of a previous attempt to colonize the area. EVJAR notes that there are remains of other settlers in the ash plains[9], and that ROMAL was unusually familiar with life there. After her settling of the ash plains, her chieftainhood was recognized by the rest of the rockbiter tribes, making her tribe the newest. Some chieftains still detest her, despite the accomplishment.[8] During her establishing of the tribe, ROMAL met EVJAR.[10] ROMAL cares for her deeply, but the full extent of this relationship is unclear.[11]
The Chevrin Invasion
Because their king was assassinated by a certain Llokin[12], the Chevrin began a full scale invasion during ROMAL's quest to obtain all the tears.[13] By the time it reached Vetteswoods, she had finally collected them all.[14] ROMAL is a skilled fighter[8], and uses the power of the tears to deftly kill Chevrin, despite them being much larger and stronger than Llokin. When he was requesting reinforcements, WARES remarked "We just pissed off a God".[11][13] EVJAR was wounded in the ensuing skirmishes, but still lives.[15] It's unclear what will happen with the Chevrin and ROMAL, since that part of the story has not been written yet.
